My ? is this. Does this really taste like coffee? I've bought so many blends and supposed REAL Beans,my head swims. I'm tired of French Roast. I've tried other Roast. What do you think is the best. It's a stupid and redundant ? But important..
How do you know this is 100% brazilian coffee? the packaging does not seem to comply with current fda regulations concerning country of origin?
How old is the typical bag sold here on Amazon? Will the coffee have been roasted a few days or weeks ago before getting to the Amazon warehouse?
Are the beans tested for Mycotoxins?

WONDERFUL FLAVOR FOR COLD BREW COFFEE

I have tried many coffee's. This is my go to coffee especially for making cold brew coffee. I love the full flavor. Unlike other coffees which I tend to add more creamer to, with the Kenya AA Coffee I want very little creamer to cover the wonderful flavor of the coffee. I highly recommend this coffee to anyone looking for bold and full flavored coffee especially for making cold brew coffee.

Dark Ethiopian (Fresh Roasted Coffee): It was good until it changed

Dark Ethiopian (Fresh Roasted Coffee)Four stars for history, though the produce (apparently) underwent a change. We had a "subscribe and save" subscription to this for over three years (every two weeks) and were very happy with the product. Until early March of 2025. The item delivered at that time was quite different from all the preceding shipments (first picture). We contacted FRC customer service and provided the same picture. The representative agreed that the shipment was wrong and sent a replacement - which was correct. However, the NEXT TWO S&S deliveries were exactly the same as the first incorrect package. FRC customer service did not immediately respond, but had evidently consulted their roastmaster who replied"The color of the Dark Yirgacheffe that was roasted on 3/21 is Ag-37 (dark) and is consistent with production roast samples that were done as far back as 2023. The issue might be that due to less oil (likely due to the green coffee age) on the outside of the bean, it may appear lighter."Now I do not know a lot about roasting coffee, but I can tell when two things are not the same. Perhaps it did change for some reason, but the product is no longer what we want, so we have moved on to another product.

Seems more of a medium roast than medium dark. OK if that's what you like.

Since I prefer darker roasts, this coffee doesn't have the deep chocolatey flavor I generally seek. Aroma seems more herbal, maybe more of a black tea flavor to me. Since this brand seems committed to providing a wide range of single origin coffee in a variety of roasts, I am willing to take a chance on trying out their products. I always have some decaf to mix with a flavor I don't really care for, so not as much of a problem when I am not enamoured with any one variety. That's the case here. One and done, ready to move on to something else.

Yum!

Our household would never get out of bed without Kenya on our minds. The coffee is magic.

Not Fresh, Not as Good as the Non-Organic

A few weeks ago I purchased the much cheaper version of this, the "Guji Sidamo" which was an OK coffee, so I figured I'd try this organic version as it said there would be blueberry and lighter roast notes.First off, it was not fresh. The expire date (1 year from roast date) was 2 months past when I got the bag. This is just too old to make good espresso. At $16/lb this is the same price range as some local roasters. When I got the non-organic, it had the same date, but at that time was only 6 weeks old, so usable. Now to the taste. It's on the light end of a medium roast. Meaning it's harder to dial in to prevent sour shots. Usually it's worth that hassle to get the fruity notes. However, on this coffee there were none of those notes present (maybe they were there when it was actually fresh?). So the end result is a coffee that can be bitter and sour at the same time, and has this little narrow range to dial in... and no reward at all for doing that. The non-organic version is just better balanced and easier to dial right off the bat.I did spend some time dialing as best as I could, but it didn't seem to make any difference. For reference I'm using a high extraction basket (3k hole), paper filter on the bottom, screen on top. It was best at a 2:1 shot, but again "best" was really just meh. As a turbo shot it just gets bitter. As a luongo, it's verrry bitter.I'm not buying this again. I *might* get the non-organic version, as it's a pretty good deal, but this organic version was basically a waste of money I should have spent on something local instead.
