Best gelatin ever - esp. for cooking and baking!

I’ve tried many of the brands of “grass fed” beef gelatin sold on amazon over the years, but I like this one best out of all of them! It’s better quality IMO, and even a little bit cheaper than a lot of the other brands.People eat gelatin for all sorts of reasons (GI issues, skin health, joint health, inflammation etc). I’ve been eating a tablespoon a day for years because it definitely helps my skin. It really helps keep cystic acne at bay due to the way it kills inflammation. I also like that just one tablespoon provides a lot of protein (i rarely eat meat so I need it).Keep in mind though, that this gelatin is for COOKING (like for making ACTUAL GELATIN). It’s great if wanna make gummies, marshmallows, jello-style gelatin, or add it to your baking, cooking, or smoothies for texture/thickening etc.HOWEVER, IF YOU JUST WANT a “collagen” supplement TO MIX INTO YOUR DRINKS? You should buy the “hydrolyzed” form instead. It will give you the exact same benefits as this stuff with one huge difference: the hydrolyzed form is broken down to make it tasteless and easily dissolved in liquids (go ahead and mix it with your coffee, tea, or even water), whereas this stuff won’t dissolve easily and will likely have a gross taste and texture (depending on what you mix it into). That's the only difference between this gelatin and the hydrolyzed "collagen peptides" (but it's a pretty important distinction depending on how you want to eat it).Anyways, at 15g of protein per tablespoon, this stuff seems to provide a little more protein than most other brands I’ve tried. The quality is really good too! I prefer to eat my gelatin like actual gelatin, or to be more specific, I prefer to make it as gelatin and then blend it into my smoothies to give them a thick and creamy texture (like ice cream or milkshakes). I can’t eat dairy and I’m not a big fan of coconut milk so this is the only way I can get that creamy texture.I like how easily this stuff “blooms” and dissolves. I add a bit of room temp water to a scoop of this powder and leave it to “bloom” while waiting for some water to boil in the microwave. Then I dissolve the rubbery puddle of “bloomed” gelatin by adding maybe 1/4-1/2 cup of the boiling water to it and whisking it around until it's dissolved (kind of like making regular jello), at which point I add stevia, fruit, and a couple cups of cold water.I’ve also used this gelatin to stabilize whipped topping a bunch of times with really good results, which is something I’ve had A LOT of trouble doing when I’ve used other brands of gelatin (usually it ends up getting all chunky!). It just dissolves and sets so much better than other brands, which results in way less frustration and silky whipped topping that stays perfectly stabilized for about a week.

Good stuff! Make your own Icecream, jello, puddings, blancmange, stews

Love it! So happy I got this big jar of beef derived gelatin. You can buy Agar-Agar, a seaweed Vegan gelatin if you are Vegetarian/Vegan. Both work well and provide the same nutrition. Gelatin is super important for your entire body - connective tissue, skin, collagen, bones, nails, hair, eyes, joints, etc. I buy this for both myself and my dog (or any other mammal). It is essential food for your body. This jar is very good. I tested it out on a gelatin chocolate pudding and it worked very well. Same strength as Knox.Animal gelatin comes from the meat and bones of fish, beef, pork, chicken, duck, etc. Usually powdered form or sheets. You have to 'bloom' it in cold water, then pour boiling water over it to dissolve. It is more gentle in consistency than Agar.Agar-Agar from seaweed comes in strands, powder, or sheets. It needs to be cooked along with the food, to dissolve. No need to bloom it, just toss it in, stir until dissolved, done. It sets more firmly than animal gelatin, so too much will make the food rubbery. Sometimes, you might want that in gummy bear candy or fun jello cubes for kids to eat. Agar is cheaper. I have both.Try adding gelatin to soups, stews, curries, puddings, cake fillings, ice cream, etc. You will improve the texture and thickness, and provide good nutrition. I made chocolate pudding by cooking cocoa, water, a bit of cream, Monkfruit extract (instead of sugar), then adding this hot liquid to a bloomed gelatin, mixed well, and refrigerated. Yum! I plan to make ice cream with it, and some aspic for meatloaf, pate, and Yorkshire Pork Pies in crusty pastry. For Pies, you inject the gelatin flavored with beef or chicken broth into the cooled pastry, thru the crust, using a syringe. It fills the crevices, and makes it taste juicy, hot or cold.

Wonderful Product

I am trying this product to my joints, for medical purposes, it looks like a very good product, no smell, no flavor. Is very soon to have results but I think it'll work.

Nice, grass-fed gelatin

Love that this is grass-fed as that is a major plus for health, and I cannot detect any flavor (though others may be a bit more sensitive to flavors). This coarse powder does seem to clump together and gel more quickly than other products I've used before but that is probably because it doesn't seem to contain added ingredients. Just be aware that it may take some time to be familiar with using it effectively.

This is a great product at a great price. Use for many applications including making carnivore jello. Well worth the price, good packaging and time for delivery.

Flavorless, mixes well

So, I just got this but so far so good. ChatGPT (lol) advised to let it “bloom” in some cold liquid first before dissolving it in hot liquid. I bought this in lieu of collagen peptides for health benefits. The first time, I dumped it into some hot tea and it clumped up and was sticky but it did eventually dissolve with a lot of stirring. Was flavorless. The 2nd time I did what ChatGPT said and poured just enough cold water in the cup to wet the gelatin powder and it clumped. Then I added my hot tea and it easily dissolved with no clumps, definitely bloom it in cold liquid first lol. Completely flavorless though and works well!
