exact replacement for old one
exact replacement for original broken latch on pocket door. everything lined up where the old one did, including the screw holes. had to change the latch operation side, but it wasn't difficult. tip, leave the screws a little loose for the door pull plate until it is installed on the door otherwise it is pretty tight. one other review said you cannot have more than 1/16th inch gap between the door and the door frame or the latch will not catch the strike plate. this is true. i cannot deduct a star for it because the old latch was the same way and i always had issues getting it to latch. my solution, i put the new strike plate over the old strike plate to bring it away from the door frame a little bit. first i flipped the old strike plate upside down because the hole in it is offset so i needed the bottom edge of the hole in the old one to sit lower than the bottom edge of the hole in the new one so that the latch would catch the new strike plate. works perfectly now

The new brushed nickel latch modernized the overall look of our bathroom
This latch has a nice feel, finish & weight. It does not feel cheap or flimsy. The measurements are spot on & fit our door as perfect as the original. It took a little work to change the latch direction (depending on which side of the door the latch is going to be installed) but once it was done the install was a piece of cake.We have one pocket door at one end of our bathroom & a regular door at the other end. I ordered brushed nickel hinges and door handle for the regular door to match the sink & tub fixtures. The new latch was the cherry on the cake completing the modernization of our bathroom. My neighbor liked mine so well that I've just ordered one for her bathroom.

5 stars--but--
5 stars--but--be careful. If you live in a new house and you are not very handy and have not installed this before: Don't. Hire someone. You are going to hire someone anyway after you mess this up, so save yourself the time and headache--and possibly, a new door!I have an old house, am pretty handy, AND (big part coming) the exact cut had already been made, as I was replacing, not installing from scratch. Even with all that, I look at it, and kind of laugh. It is far from perfect--that is, my installation. Example: I did not mortise out the strike plate area (besides the indentation for the latch), so it does not sit flush. Any smart guy would notice this, and instantly think less of you. : ) I think less of me already for this! However, since my purpose is to permanently close the pocket door, no one will see it. So, no matter.See what I mean?Anyway, really high qual item, nice finish, great price, I def recommend and will remember this brand--esp since it is such an odd name--Homo tek! Seriously!? : )(Pictured--Antique Brass)

Almost perfect fit but the finger grip indents need to have sharper angles on the front and back
These almost fit perfectly as a replacement for the 70s-style shiny chrome handles I had. I had to make the notch in the door 1/16" taller on the top and bottom, and drill an indent in the back for the latching mechanism when it rotates into the locking position. That was no problem; I didn't expect a perfect fit when replacing a handle decades old.My biggest complaint s that the indent for the finger grip slopes too much, making it too easy for your fingers to slip out of the grip when opening or closing the door. This is subtle. The front and back edges of the finger indent should be sharper angles so that your finger tips have a better pushing action on the handle. Like I said, subtle, but this shallower angle does make it a little harder to push the door without your finger slipping out.
