Simple LP carrier but overpriced

Easy to assemble. Solid wood sides fits into slots with other pieces. Must be carried with built in handles. If not, it will disassemble. Looks nice on media shelf. This item should be less than $20 dollars because of it’s simplicity. A trained woodworker could make a better LP box, charge less, and make a fortune.

Nice vintage style record holder

Bought three of these Victrola record crates. I have had them a little over a month and they seem pretty sturdy. My records fit very snugly inside. The assembly process for me anyway was not as simple as others have described. You must follow the directions on the enclosed leaflet precisely making sure that each board is put on the correct side (the boards are labeled by letter so this would be the easy part). The most difficult part of the assembly and why I am taking off a star on the "Easy to assemble" question is fitting the bottom board in place. For some reason the groove is not quite the right size to accommodate the board the first time around - just keep trying.A reviewer asked if the crate can be lifted and carried while full. I personally would not take a chance doing that due to the construction (the boards may slip out of place and the whole unit falls apart) and the sheer weight of the unit full of records - if you drop it you may cause injury to yourself. Just keep the crate wherever it's convenient and just take out the records, put them back when done and enjoy. If you must move the crate empty it first The assembly problem aside this looks like a sturdy unit which hopefully will stand the test of time. How you use it will count a lot for its longevity.P.S. The vintage look makes it appear like one of those food crates found in supermarkets. not recommending you use it for food, just saying. The vintage look brings back memories of all sorts.

Get Wood Glue!

The box is very nice, records fit snugly but can easily move to see them. The records stick out the top so you cannot stack anything on top of this. When we put it together, very easily, it kept coming apart. One false move and it would slide apart. Out came the wood glue! I recommend assembling the box to see how it all goes together, then disassemble it totally and fill in the grooves with wood glue and reassemble. I did this and it is nice and sturdy. I didn't have any clamps so used masking tape all over it to hold it together while the glue dried. Worked nicely. I didn't do the best job of wiping up all the glue but it isn't noticeable at all. Took about half an hour, well worth it. I would buy this again, it is nice quality. I wish the price was a tad less for having to fix the box so it would work in the first place but alternative storage cases and stands are all more expensive than this, so, this one works well. Very happy with it now.

Victrola, we gotta talk. Or you gotta quit licensing your name for this stuff, idk.

Didn't even get to use it because the many manufacturing issues, including:-one of the tabs came out of the box snapped in half lengthways (see picture). I proceeded with assembly anyways, figuring I could wood-glue it together as long as it basically fit.Instead, the slots for assembly were shoddily cut. Even when assembled, the entire thing was slightly crooked and the bottom piece (which is particle board and very flimsy) didn't fit into one of the slots at all because it wasn't cut straight. In other words, even if I could assemble it, I wouldn't be able to move it without the bottom breaking and all the contents falling out. Not ideal for storage. An entirely different piece was clearly assembled/constructed backwards -- the slots were cut into the finished (outward-facing) part of the wood. When assembled, 3 out of 4 sides looked shiny and new and the remaining one looked like the underside of an Ikea dresser. So it's:-completely insecure-comes with bad cuts and broken parts-can't stand up on its own even with the broken tab accounted for-even with no weight on or in it, immediately leaned into a drunken rhombus shape.Bonus: it's weirdly tiny, almost to the point of comedic. Despite what the measurements in the listing say (at least when I bought it, I hope it gets updated) my standard-size 12" LPs do not fit inside, possibly due to the inadequate construction of the pieces but even without that, it would still be iffy.Double bonus: the whole thing looks like it goes with a child-sized Fisher-Price record player. Which I'm not against in general principle, except, uh, the only reason I bought a record crate was to... store records and all I wanted it to be was sturdy and the right size and it managed to do neither of those things.Ugh. I try not to write negative reviews, because I would rather point people at things I like/appreciate/enjoy, but this is frankly a little embarrassing given that I replaced it with an inexpensive plastic crate that is cleanable, reusable, sturdy, and can be disassembled for storage -- all of the things this can't do.

Back to the 60's

I found my vinyl records from my college days. The only way to hear them again was buy a record player. Then I wanted a storage place. I liked the crate box look. Took me back to my early apartment days. Actually this storage unit is nice. Looks sturdy and is sturdy. It was very easy to assemble. It is not especially big so it fits into the space I had to keep the records. There are several choices of color making it more likely you will find one that fits into you decor.

Just what my wife needed.

Got it for my wife to keep her albums in next to her record player.Handy and convenient, she no longer has to hunt for her" Moody Blues".Had to work a little bit to put it together because one of the slots where the sides joined together were misaligned and to be adjusted to fit. And that may have been just on the one I got.If I need another one, I'd buy it again cause it looks good.
