We purchased the set for 8. I read through the reviews on several different manufacturers product lines, and decided on these. I was concerned because there were some mentions of staining in the 1-stars.We’ve had these ow for over 6 months, and they are perfect - not a hint of tarnish or stain. The stainless steel is quality SS. . I love them.They are quality stainless steel, and have the weight of quality - they feel great in your hand, the weight and balance are there. There has been absolutely zero staining - no evidence of it at all.We wash them In the dishwasher in the evening and empty the dishwasher the next evening, so they sit inside the DW for a pretty long time with water drops here and there.Again, I personally am 100% happy with this purchase and I am pretty picky.When I shop for things for the kitchen, I definitely shop for quality (not necessarily brand). I know what I am looking for pretty much. I then start searching and reading reviews.This cutlery set fits the bill perfectly. It’s a great every day set, as well as stylish for a holiday table setting.Love ‘em.Just go for it, you’ll be happy.

Absolutely gorgeous and elegant. I'd wanted new flatware for 15 years and these were worth the wait. I'm not kidding when i say that it makes me smile every time i use them (it's the little things in life). I purchased an Oneida 18/0 flatware set but oh, the stains from the dishwasher were terrible. Returned it and bought this Mikasa set and am so glad i did. I use a higher quality rinse aid than the generic Walmart brand, and all the pieces come out of the dishwasher without a flaw. Each piece has a nice weight to it and is comfortable to use. The handles don't hurt your fingers like skinny-handled flatware does. Just a beautiful, beautiful set.

I needed a nice, large matching set - I am 44 and have never owned a really nice set of silverware. This is a beautiful set, and I am retiring my older mixed set to our travel trailer! These are beautifully made, heavy and I am sure I will never need another set. The price point is great also, for a 12 service set.

This set is beautiful. All the pieces have a substantial weight and feel. The knives are very sharp and cut well. Best set I have ever owned.

These are pretty, modern and seem to be good quality. They have a good weight to them. The only thing that bothers me though is that after I washed them in the dishwasher I noticed they have a lot of water marks (even with rinse aid). My old set didn’t show spots, so a little disappointed.

I had Oneida for years (without Nickel) and it didn't come out of the dishwasher clean unless I prewashed by hand. I then switched to Lenox with Nickel, and it came out of the dishwasher nice and clean, but it wasn't without issues. Chief among them was that I did not like the design: salad forks so small they were useless, and there was no symmetry between the various utensils. In contrast, this Mikasa set is the Goldilocks selection for me: just right! Pre-washing is not needed for Bosch Dishwashers, and utensils are nicely sized and balanced. Pleased.

I was totally impressed by the packaging. Each piece was individually wrapped in a paper envelope. In addition all knives,spoons, forks were bundled by type with a rubber band. A nice set for every day use.
