I Think This Is It...

The primary use of this TV is when I go camping, so I have an after-dark activity. Any avid camper knows that you can't always rely on a cell signal where you are, so your cellphone isn't always an option then. We've all been there, right? I also live on the East coast, so bad weather & hurricanes can knock out power for days on end. The included 12 volt plug will make sure I have power from the car OR from the portable 100 watt solar setup I have. I'm in no way a "prepper", but it just makes good sense to think two steps ahead, right? This TV is dead simple to setup once you power it up for the first time, as it's already right there at the setup screen. Scan for channels, adjust the colors, set the volume mixer for different types of shows, time zones & so on. Not in those orders, but you get the idea.Since it's a digital TV, it has a great picture because, well, it's digital & not analog. You either receive a signal for that channel or you don't. There's no in-between anymore. Well, there IS...but green & blue pixelization & choppy audio is something I don't care to watch. Just move the antenna, problem solved! I *do* like that it displays 1080 programming on the screen (station dependent of course!) & being a 14", it's large enough to see comfortably at about 6 feet away or so. I'm camping, so I won't be far away from the screen anyways! And the sound is very decent coming from the rear-firing speakers. Just put it up against a solid object (a wall or some other larger metallic object) to reflect the sound forwards. In the manual, it states that it has a 6,000 mAH, 3.7 volt battery inside. That's more capacity than your cellphone, so it should last for several hours. I haven't been on a camping trip with this TV yet, (but in the next 30 days I will!) so I can't vouch for the battery longevity. That'll be a later update! It's all 5 stars across the board (for now) & will be revised as needed. You want the truth before plunking down your money as I do? I'll tell it like it is...the good, the bad & the ugly. So far all good, no ugly. The only "bad" point here is the side antenna connection. You'll have a cable sticking out of the side of the unit, so go to the blue & gold spiral WAL* store & get a right angle male/female F type cable connection. This way the antenna connection cable will be hanging down instead of sticking straight out. That would've been a nice addition to the included equipment inside the box, but it is what it is! The included stubby antenna is only for local stations within a few miles of you. I can't get a single station with the magnetic stubby, so I use a powered flat white wall antenna (can we say 47 channels now??). This is where I say to use the right angle adapter as the coax is much thicker & sticks out quite far & easily gets bumped sticking out like that.So there ya' go! It's time to plan the next camping adventure!

so far happy but there is a major design flaw you need an exacto to fix.

Ok. so have this thing installed in my bathroom and I have to say it's an amazing little tv with amazing features.1. built in radio tuner.2. usb port that can read just about every video file format I've thrown at it.3. live air to cut the cable.the problem is the antenna that comes with it is limited length and the did not bother documenting the cable standard ANYWHERE. based on my testing I believe is RG6 75 ohm. I bought another piece of cable and an F2F adapter and the damndest thing is I can't get the thing connected to the TV. couldn't figure out if the standard was wrong for what. Turns out the hole on the side of the tv is just a couple fractions of a mill off meaning you cant get the thing in far enough for the thread to catch and certainly not enough to spin if you force it.so to fix I got my sharpest freshest exacto knife. , ensureed the thing was powered off and shaved off a small ring of plastic and bamb. problem solved. fits right. good signal couldn't be happier. Just wish they would have clearly documented all the standards so I would have know what kind of problem i was dealing with before I brought out the extra hardware.

Lot's of features.

This little TV is packed really well. The screen is bubble wrapped and all the accessories are in a styrofoam sleeve. The reason I mention this is because I sold televisions for 23 years. You will never know the disappointment of a customer opening a $3000 Sony XBR and the screen is smashed and laying on the bottom of the box. There is an owners manual which is pretty easy to follow but there were a couple of places I had to figure some things on my own while using the remote. There is even a schematic that is enclosed with the owners manual. I doubt too many people would ever attempt to fix a problem inside this TV and it's too inexpensive to take to a repair shop. Once the TV is mounted to the stand it's shipped with it takes about 6 hours to charge the batteries. There is a switch on the side that has to be placed in the AC/DC position before the set can be turned on. I believe that is to prevent it from being turned on accidently and drain the battery. After the battery is charged and the antenna is attached the fun begins. When the TV is turned on all that is needed is to follow the on screen prompts and the set will scan for all the over the air signals. I didn't know there were that many over the air channels in this area since I was on DirecTV and now YouTube TV. Besides all the over the air TV there are quite a few digital FM radio broadcasts. After scanning the TV stations I scanned for FM radio stations and all I used was the TV antenna. There is a separate FM antenna that can be attached if really needed. After everything was scanned in it was time to check out the operation. The picture quality is good but the colors are not consistent from channel to channel and not consistent from within the same channel. There are presets for Vivid, Standard, Sports, and User but none of them can be adjusted to what I desire. A bit frustrating even though it's a value oriented, multi featured set. The speakers are on the back of the TV so the volume has to be cranked up to full volume for me to hear it. The set should not be placed in an enclosed cabinet unless you want to rig up external speakers. It would be nice if this set had a Bluetooth audio output. I've used the set three times. The first two were to experiment with the functions and see how long the batteries would last. The first time it was on for 3 hours before the batteries died. When I charged it, it only took 4 hours but I left it connected for an extra hour. The second time I turned it on the batteries lasted 3 1/2 hours. Yesterday I used it as a second TV to keep track of the Colorado/TCU game while I was using my 55" Samsung as a computer monitor while betting on the horse races in Del Mar, CA. After Coach Prime put TCU down I turned it off till the North Carolina/South Carolina game came on and it lasted the entire games. I'm estimating the batteries lasted 4 1/2 hours. Tonight I expect the set to last through the entire Florida State/LSU game while I'm watching the NASCAR race at Darlington, SC on my Samsung. I bought the set because we are in hurricane season and after going 8 days without electricity last year when Hurricane Ian hit us I decided I wanted an battery operated set just to stay informed of what was happening if one hits us again. Now I've found a weekly use for a small set to use on the weekends when I want to follow two different sports broadcasts at the same time. It's a good value with lots of features. Now if I can only get the colors adjusted to the way I want them.
