I use this as a therapist and it works perfectly to drone out the outside noise from my office. Always put outside your door in the space where you don't want to be heard (i.e. waiting room or hallway). I find it works better on an end or console table versus the floor, but if you have to have it on the floor that is ok too. When positioned higher, I find it projects the sound upward into the space creating a more full sound effect. I enjoy the variety of sounds and usually go with the soft ocean rolling waves sound over the standard white noise sounds. Much more relaxing to listen to that your typical white noise machine.

I purchased this item in May of 2024 and since it's been so good it is about time I write a review. I have tinnitus as a result of 20 years of structural steel erection in my younger days, and hear birds chirping 24/7. This since the mid 1980s. I tune it out most of the time but when you lie down to go to sleep in total silence the chirping is front and center. Using the pink noise setting allows me to focus on the sound generated by the machine instead of the tinnitus. My upstairs neighbor is generally quiet but if there's a piece of furniture moved, scraping on the tile floor, it is sort of part of the surrounding sounds. If the machine wasn't on it would break the total silence and be very disturbing. So I'm very happy with this acquisition and it has definitely been worth the price.

This is the one.A few years ago I tried sleeping with a brown noise app and was changed by it. But using an app burns through your phone battery, among other inconveniences.I tried several other brown noise machines that either had weird undertones looped in or didn’t have a good sound in the mix.This sound machine has a perfect brown noise track. I couldn’t even tell you which one it is. Since I found it, I haven’t changed it.We bought another one for our daughter’s room. I have dropped so much formula powder through the speaker, but it hasn’t quit. It refuses to die.This is your sound machine.

It works! But most settings reflect ocean surf sound. Would be nice if other sounds were included like tropical rain or bubbling brook. The AC conditioner sound? does not work.

Most have detectable loops even when advertised as non-looping. This one is seamless to me.Good variety of sounds too. Good volume choices.No annoying lights, so the room stays dark.Pleasant surprise: when plugged into a Kasa wifi switch, I can not only remotely turn it off but can even turn it back on. Many speakers these days don't resume playing when their power is cut and then restored, but this does.

The LectroFan Evo is by far the best sound/noise sleep aid machine I've seen or used! The sound is very rich and deep and includes some lower-frequency noise settings that can mask even things like trash trucks or leaf blowers outside if I turn the volume up loud enough. And it does get quite loud, thanks to the high-quality speaker and enclosure. I prefer the noise/static sounds but there are good fan-like sounds if you prefer that. It's powered by a plug-in USB adapter, so you can power it from a USB power cell if needed. There are no LEDs/lights to potentially interfere with your sleep, and the button layout is easy to learn and navigate without looking, if you need to adjust the volume or change sounds or set the timer in the dark. It remembers your settings even if you unplug it for a while, and there are a couple customizable options like auto-power-on/off. I've found no downsides with this sound machine, and it's well worth the cost for helping me get a good night's sleep no matter what annoying noises are going on outside!

For over a decade my wife and I have put on the sound of ocean waves on our beloved Squeezebox radio devices as white noise to fall asleep to. We had a pug that would snore pretty loud, so needed something to drown that out -- and besides that, when it's dead silent and the house is creaking or there's some other noise to fixate on, it can sometimes be hard to fall asleep. So the Squeezebox device worked well, except several times a year or more there were either power glitches or network glitches that caused the white noise to be interrupted -- which would inevitably wake us up and have one of us walking over half-asleep to reset the radio, sometimes cursing at it because it wouldn't just reset. I eventually decided that it'd be nice to have something that just did white noise and didn't require any network connection -- or would restart itself if the power went off.I now have 4x LectroFan white noise machines. Two of this model and two of their more basic model. They all work well. I have one in the guest room for when guests are over, we were using one by our puppy's crate for a number of months, there's this model in our bedroom for falling asleep to ocean waves and then a sister to that one that is only for traveling.My wife thought I was nuts for buying the first one. Probably because of the fact you can play white noise on your phone, we had the Squeezeboxes playing ocean waves, etc. But then after we used it for a while, she started to love it -- and also love the simplicity of them. You just hit a button. It remembers the volume and whatever tone you had previously set. If the power goes out, it comes right back on with the same tone and volume. And it just works! No fussing with loading an app, with a phone heating up or battery dying during the night, or network issues to interrupt the streaming of the white noise.So all-in-all, very happy to have purchased this and wouldn't hesitate to recommend. There is no looping. It can get pretty loud. And it just works!With these having an advertised power rating, I felt really comfortable buying it. I think it's under 3w or something like that -- and that's how it should be. Yes there are cheaper options, but do they have a noticeable loop in the sound? Do they consume very little power? Are they good build quality? Are they going to heat up or burn up or worse? I'd rather pay a bit more knowing I'm getting a quality product these days, especially if it's plugged in 24/7.This is a buy-it-once type of device that should last for years and years judging by other people's experience, so well worth the cost for something you'll use almost every single day IMO. Definitely recommended!
