What a load of rubbish
This pump was ment to be automatic the float switch does not work correctly you have to shake it to make it work do not buy this Chinese crap and amazon shouldn't sell this crap

Works very well for non-boat application.
Very small and effective. I'm using this pump to sit in the bottom of a sump outside an old building with damp ingress problems through the solid clay floor. Picture shows the pump attached to a non-return valve prior to installation. The pumps shifts water about 5 metres away with a rise of about a metre, operated from a small accumulator that will be PV charged when I have time to fit. The sump has a standard inspection cover and the pipe comes out through a conduit installed in the cement. The pump is very quiet and has pumped many gallons of water away so far (lovely summer we are having :-)

Just the job.
For the boat bilge, not 100% sure yet if I will keep it on auto when not on board as I like to shut everything off but fused it should be OK.

Powerful pump does want to run on backflow but that's just the piping error
