Q: The J in SJTW means the cord has standard 300 voltage insulation, but in the description it says it has 600 voltage insulation? Which one is it?

YES the 2' extension insulation is rated at 600 Volts, the short extension is very thick. More IMPORTANT is the AMP rating which is 15 AMPs. If you are going to draw 15 AMPS pass 50' you may want to go to a 10/3 100' extension. The wire will draw what ever is connected to it go pass 15 AMPS and you will trip a breaker. The longer the extension the thicker the wire needs to be, otherwise it will draw what it needs but the cord will get hot. Hope this helps. You can go online and get the electrical rating for extension cords based on length and amperage.

Q: Is this product suitable for outdoor use?

I use it outdoors mostly, but it is not waterproof at the plug ends of course. The casing around the wires though appears to be waterproof.
