Q: Is the retention on the kydex sheath good enough to carrynit upside down?

I have the leather sheath for the Esee 4 HM. I also have the Kydex sheath for an Esee 3.While it has good retention for the knife, the metal belt clip sucks.

Q: The claim is this knife is 4hmk- brk. 4hm designates handle modified? why does ad say traditional handle?

It’s a “traditional” style of handle as compared to the standard Esee 4 contoured handle. I own a standard Esee 6 and this Esee 4HM, I like both types of handles, it’s really just personal preference.

Q: How wide and thick is the handle

The handle is 1-1/8" (28.6mm) Thick (measured parallel to the blade) at the thickest point 1-1/2" (38.1mm) from the butt. The handle is 7/8" (22mm) Thick (measured parallel to the blade) at the narrowest point 4" (101.6mm) from the butt. The handle is 7/8" (22mm) Wide (measured perpendicular to the blade) down its entire length For me this knifes best feature is the steel from which it is made which sharpens easily and holds a razor edge very well
