For the price range, I cant really see how you would do any better than this fantastic item. I tested it out with The Shining in 4k and the throbbing heartbeat sound heard throughout the film delivered excellent base through the subwoofer and eerie chants through the all enveloping rear speakers. This system will add extra layers and dimensions to all your old favourite films provided they have a 5.1 soundtrack.Even normal TV broadcast in stereo sees a noticeable boost in clarity of dialogue compared to existing onboard TV speakers.My only minor gripe with the system is it did not come with a full instruction manual, so I spent quite a bit of time trying to pair rear speakers with front soundbar before I found how to do so with the manual sourced online.Overall, a fantastic investment though and I highly recommend this is product for anybody who doesnt want to spend a fortune on a 5.1 system and still obtain quality at entry level.

The media could not be loaded. Setup was fairly easy for the soundbar and subwoofer, needed some AAA batteries for the remote which I thankfully had some in the draw from another remote for another sound system, Poseidon D60. However, the setup for the rear speakers were a bit trickier. I expected some longer power cables so I could connect to the same plug but they are barely a metre long or less so remember you will need a plug around that space or an extension cable. I realized I had a plug behind the sofa though so I used that.First of all tried Avatar The Way of Water, bass not even that high about +1 and surround and it is unreal. The flaps of the wings of the raptors were boomy as they flapped through the air and action boomed out of the screen. The rear speakers had water sounds flowing through and the music feels full with instruments separated from the main bar and the rear speakers. Even just the soundbar was immersive, the flaps of the wings above, you could hear they were more above you than on surface level. Very impressed. Then I tried some music, specifically Destroyer of Worlds from Oppenheimer, which I loved in cinema. If this is in any way similar to my experience in the cinema, I'm keeping this. And holy moly, the room shook, I felt as if the atomic bomb was actually going to go off. This was about 50% volume and +5 bass so don't expect to play this when others are around but the fact it can do this has completely sold me. Music is just so boomy, it's not amazing for all songs, sometimes the bass is too boomy for the music produced, but then you just turn down the bass and it's still great. I'm in love with this sound system, I actually feel like I have a cinema in the house.I did some testing, +1 bass is really good for films and went upstairs to check and you couldn't feel it, anything above people will hear it. This is still great for films so I recommend this for night watching. Either way, there is a night mode and you can put the bass down to -5 to please everyone. Even then, -5 still produces more bass than the tv ever would and is still a great experience.I had the Poseidon D60 for a few days and sent it back because it just wasn't as big a difference as I wanted for £200. This at £300 though is miles and miles above that, it's as if I spent triple what I paid for the Poseidon. I think for 99% of people, this will be more than enough to make a home cinema experience. Cannot recommend more.

My primary source of media is my upstairs PC. I had all sorts of problems getting it to play Dolby Atmos content, which I finally solved by buying a Denon 7.2.1 AVR, which sounded great.I bought a projector for downstairs and thought this soundbar would be good for Dolby Atmos when coupled with the larger screen. However, I didn't realise that you can't get Atmos over Bluetooth. DOH! Not wishing to trail an HDMI lead across the room, I decided to use this upstairs instead. My TV is also made by Hisense.I am no audiophile but I was surprised to discover that this 5.1.2 system from a surround sound point of view including the feeling of height, sounded even better than my more expensive 7.2.1 set-up, no doubt due to the up-firing speakers and it's making use of the TV's speakers as well. And as soon as I plugged the HTML lead in from the computer, the PC screen appeared on the TV. All I had to do was configure it in Windows as a Dolby Atmos device. My go-to sound test is a few minutes of Saving Private Ryan, I was so immersed that I watched the whole beach sequence, some 28 minutes. It was the best that I have ever heard it.Compared to my AVR and other more expensive soundbars that I have had which didn't work with my PC, the features are somewhat basic, with no room correction etc. but it works out of the box, is simply a case of plug and play to quickly set up and for this price bracket provides plenty of punch, clarity and immersion. Dolby Atmos and surround effects are accurately reproduced, speech is crystal clear and bass is weighty yet controlled. It is also very loud.It may not rival more premium soundbars, but the sound quality it provides is nothing short of impressive for the price—and even more so since I bought this on Prime Day!
