Small hands: results may be biased

Well this device gives you the truth alright. You think you’re lifting your body weight well, scapular pull ups, push ups, heavy free weights and curls, but grip strength is considered by some researchers to be a huge marker for potential future dementia. And what’s more, the DISCREPANCY between right vs. left hand grip strength is also a contributing factor and for me, who works in a dental office and uses my right hand WAY more than my left, this is concerning. So enter this device. First of all, it’s super easy to set up 1,2,3 user profiles. It uses both 2 disposable/rechargeable batteries as WELL as an internal charging and it comes with the USB C cord as well. It’s comes with a PAPER instruction manual, which, in this day and age, I’m sorry, it’s still appreciated. The device is definitely sobering with its display showing “weak, normal, strong” for your profile. It’s important to set up your age in the device so you get the appropriate evaluation but there is an included paper chart of where one should roughly be according to age. Now, since I have very small hands and tiny fingers, (my hand is about 5” from wrist to middle finger tip) I think the readout will register lower because the adjustment doesn’t truly move that far for very small hands, so I consider my grip strength to be “normal”. The device doesn’t lie, and there’s no other way to keep track of this important new health metric. I highly recommend.

Excellent hand recovery tool.

I purchased this item to help with my recovery from wrist/hand surgery. This item provides two very important functions for my road to recovery by allowing me to see my grip strength progress and to allow me improve my grip strength with resistance grip settings.

Cumple

Es un buen producto. Cumple con lo que promete. El problema es que después de que te canses, lo terminas guardando en un esquina durante meses o terminas tirando…

It's a gasuge, not a strengthener-

Worth the money. We bought this to test our grip strength because it's just good to know and if done right, can help improve grip strenght which has been said to help with longivity- I got my readings and decided to gift it and opted for traditional spring grip strentheners like Captan Crunch

Plastic has a rubber-like texture but not in a bad way

I was expecting this thing to be weak, creaking plastic. It is not. I like getting surprised by higher quality with Amazon, occasionally. It has a smooth rubberized plastic surface, I think is great. I suspect that would absorb skin oils and get problems eventually, but I think that would take years and years. The handle does not really move noticeably. That is as I expected. Probably piezoelectric, like all the modern scales. But that also means it probably is not ideal for exercising your hands. For that, you need something with spring steel or a weight on a pulley. But it does what it is supposed to do, which is measure your grip strength. I was able to set up 2 users without using the manual, so reasonably intuitive. I will have to look at the manual and look at all the other features. The display works excellent, and is backlit. No difficulty seeing or reading it, even in the dark. The buttons make a sound, not electronic, just mechanical, sounds fine, and it is nice to know that a push is registered. Reasonably compact, so storage should be no difficulty. No, my only disappointment is that I don't appear to be as strong as I once was. I have a ways to go. I am somewhat concerned about the reading limit, but I probably won't peg it for a year or two. I am only getting to 190 lb. So, 74 lb to go. I figure if I can peg it at some point, I can change the distance setting to something where it is less optimized for my hand. That should be good for at least another 20 or 30 lb.They probably should have made it to go to 300 lb. More people would think it would work for them. Most of those would be wrong, and the 264 lb would be just fine, but people think they are stronger than they are.I can't speak to accuracy. I have some spring things and I can completely close the 200 lb and get close with the 250 lb. But it is probably incorrect, rather than this. Piezoelectric scales are usually very accurate, so I would think this is as well.Oh, I really like that it has both rechargeable and battery options. I tend to not buy stuff with rechargeable, because I have been stung with stuff that only recharges a few times, like my blood pressure wrist thing. Am I really going to be able to take that apart, and put in a new battery? This is what made me buy. That, and the good price. But as I said, I got more than I expected. I am rarely really pleased with a purchase...especially with inflation the way it is.Oh, just learned something new. Don't keep doing it over and over, or you will get a blister. You probably are not going to beat your first or second try per hand anyway, at least I didn't. Put it away, and try the next day.

Feels Solid & Works Well

This electronic hand dynamometer works great for tracking grip strength! It feels sturdy and well-built, not flimsy like I was worried it might be. The grip is comfortable, and the digital display is bright and easy to read.I’m not 100% sure how accurate it is, but it seems pretty close. It’s easy to use, and setting up different user profiles was simple. I also like that it offers both rechargeable and battery-powered options, so I don’t have to worry about it dying on me.One thing to keep in mind—this is more for measuring grip strength, not for building it. If you’re looking for something to train your hands, you might need a different tool. But for tracking progress, it does exactly what it’s supposed to do.Overall, I’m happy with it! It’s a solid product, and if you’re looking for an easy way to measure grip strength, this is a great option.

Is this accurate?

I got some hand exercises I can press 150 lbs this thing says I can only do a max of 90 lbs that's off by a lot. The only reason I keep it is to play with it and see if I can beat its max.
