Poor story line and writing!

Usually I like Lisa Jackson's novels but this one, Unspoken, was really poor. The story line was predictable and the writing was bad. I read the negative and positive reviews before buying the book but decided to give it a try myself. Next time I'll pay more attention to all the negative reviews! The book was a waste of time. Very disappointing..

Lots of stuff going on in Bad Luck, Texas. Good Reading!!

This was a heartbreaker. After 9 years Shelby finds out that her stillborn baby was alive via a snapshot sent anonymously. She returns to Bad Luck, Texas to find out who sent the photo. A lot has happened since she was last there and mostly none of it was good. From here the story gains momentum and races to the end. Among the people you will meet in Bad Luck includes a freed prisoner who had been convicted of murder that was later rescinded, the housekeeper that raised her and ran her father the Judge's house and the man she loved, not to mention a new relative. This book grabs you from the first page and takes you all the way to the end. It is a great book and I think one of Lisa Jackson's best.

UNSPOKEN

I usually like Lisa Jackson books, but this one not so much. Parts were interesting, but then it dragged for pages.

Really Good 👍Read

This one had me sitting on the edge of my seat holding my breath wondering what's going to happen next.

unspeakably awful

I usually like this author...but I'm done. This book was just terrible - trite and predictable, and so repetitive. Story lines that kept going off on side tangents that lead nowhere, in-depth pov from characters who have nothing to do with anything; and two of the most cliche-riddled main characters I've read in a long time. The characters were shallow and unbelievable, and the dialogue (internal and spoken) is so repetitive and so bad it's ridiculous. At one point the female lead, while fighting for her life with a very-bad-guy-rapist type, actually says "get off me, you cretin!". I laughed. And then I shut off my kindle and wished I could get my money back.

So on edge

I loved this book and the suspense kept me totally on edge. There’s a murder that hasn’t been resolved, Ross was set up. As he gets released, Shelby returns to her hometown. Someone sends pics of her daughter that she thought died at birth. We get multiple points of view. Is Nevada or Ross the Dad? So much happens and I stayed on edge. I highly recommend this book.

Great read

This book is a combo of romantic and mystery.....although if it is more a romantic book I have no interest in those book. The balance in the mystery of the lost child combined with the lost sweetheart was a absolutely great read....a must read and I will seek out other books written by Ms. Jackson.

Ugh!

I bought this book because I was under the impression that Lisa Jackson was a mystery writer and then found that she used to write romance and the publishers were re-releasing her earlier books. It's your typical I-don't-like-you-but-I-want-you Harlequinn type romance story.
