Yay

Well this was a really fun and interesting one. I would say my favorite of the entire story so far.

12 volumes in, still great.

Continues the great story that Willamson is weaving in the Flash mythos. Wished there is consistency with the art, but that didn't distract me from the book.

A Solid Volume that Pays Off Long-Time Readers

Death and the Speed Force finds the Speed Force dying, and Black Flash escaping to eliminate the users of the other Forces. The Flash, being the hero, chooses to the protect the users of the other forces even at a cost to him and the Flash family. This story is good. I don't think Barry's ever been more heroic during Williamson's run. The stuff with the Rogues is in the background, but this comes to the foreground with the final issue to set up the next arc. I also like that Williamson does pay off stuff that he's been doing throughout the series, going back to Flash War, and that's exciting.Probably the thing I'm most dubious about is how this works on a macro level. , particularly his handling of these new forces, but I'll withhold judgment on those points until reading the next volume.

A hit-or-miss volume... and a glaring omission

Joshua Williamson's run on the Flash has seen its shares of highs and lows. This volume has both. The first couple issues drawn by Rafa Sandoval are OK, and notably feature Barry Allen less morose than in previous volumes, but the plot is somewhat thin and I don't find the art particularly fitting for a Flash book. The last two issues seriously pick up for two reasons: a major character revelation and artist Scott Kolins. For fans of Geoff Johns' run on The Flash way back in the early 2000s, these two elements will be a delight and elevate the book above standard. For newer Flash readers, though, this revelation may be confusing at worst and toothless at best. The biggest flaw in this book is the GLARING omission of the backup stories from The Flash #75, which were originally solicited for inclusion. These complete the framing device for "Year One" started in Vol. 11 and also set up the Rogues subplot in this very book. Not to mention DC's decision to revert to paperback after just one (numbered) hardcover volume is frustrating.Overall if you've read the series this far then this volume will entertain. If you're a long-time Flash fan you'll definitely get a kick out of that revelation (man what a twist!). Unfortunately DC's publishing failures make me want to drop the series and wait for a possible omnibus in a few years.

Aconselho a ler!

O comic do Flash está cada vez melhor. O argumento e cada vez mais espetacular. Os desenhos são do melhor.
