Koldfront WAC10003WCO 10000 BTU 115V Window Air Conditioner with Dehumidifier and Remote Control

The AC was packaged very securely and easy to open. The box just lifted off after the straps were cut. The AC had all the accessories needed to install and then some. I have three window units and this is the best one yet. The 10,000 BTU works beautifully and cools off the room. On energy saver it shuts off until it needs to cool again. It is cooling my living room and kitchen which are 550 sq ft. I even found myself turning up the temp because I was getting cold. It was 85 degrees today and with my other window unit I had trouble getting the temperature in the house below 75. Today it was 67 inside and too cool for me. GREAT! It is in the same room as the TV and I didn't have to turn up the volume to hear the TV over the AC. You will be happy with this purchase!

Update! It’s almost a year later. We left it in the window all winter (Western PA- it gets pretty cold), and it wasn’t drafty like at all. The inside must be insulated very well. Now that it’s hot again (85+), we have turned it on and it cools the entire upper floor of our cape cod style home, approx 420sqft, beautifully.It’s definitely not louder than our previous window unit, so I don’t know why people are saying it’s noisy. Turned it on for the first time 10 min ago and holy crap is that thing COLD! I don’t know about the energy efficiency yet, but it doesn’t make our lights dim when the compressor kicks on like the old one did, so based on logic, its probably using less power. For those concerned that it’s not prime, the seller is the mfg and I’ve had to call them with a previous product I purchased and they were EXCELLENT.

This AC unit works great, is lighter than my old window unit, and seems like it should last for decades to come. On "LOW" it is much quieter than my old AC. It pumps out plenty of dry, crisp, ice-cold air. I like the "DRY ONLY" mode which acts as a dehumidifier on those days when it's humid but not quite hot enough to use the AC function.The problem is that the cold-air vent doesn't adjust as much as I need it to. My old AC (the HEAVY one) was capable of directing the air into my living room because its vent was robustly designed for that purpose. The vent on this KoldFront unit has very limited directional capabilities which keeps all the cold air in the kitchen. I have to use a floor fan to blow the cooled air into the living area.Big disappointment on that one issue, otherwise I can't deny that everything else is A+ on this unit.

With my dad's help, this was installed neatly without any problems. I live in a 250 square foot studio apartment, and it cools the entire place easily. I'm aware that isn't super impressive considering how small my space is, but I keep the fan speed on low and often find myself getting cold. I think this thing would have no problem cooling a space twice the size of mine. It's kind of noisy, but what A/C unit isn't? The remote is super basic but seems to work fine. Overall, I recommend!

Nice unit. Easy to install. Cools quickly and efficiently. One downside.. It's a bit noisy set on high, with a loud hum.

I love this air conditioning unit. We've been running it pretty consistently for about three months now and it has been great. We live in an old building and have a large, oddly-shaped living room. Our a/c unit is tucked away in an alcove but within five minutes of turning it on, there will already be a noticeable difference in temperature in even the farthest corners of the room, as well as the hallways off of the living room. I saw a few other reviewers complaining about the noise it makes but it has never been a problem for my family. I feel like it makes as much noise as you would expect from an average a/c unit, and it's white noise, so after awhile it just blends into the background. We have never had an issue with the unit, it runs great. The remote control is hit and miss- sometimes I'll have to press the buttons several times from different angles to get it to work but we really don't use the remote all that often anyway.We bought this air conditioner to replace an older unit from a different company. With the old a/c, I could run it all day and barely notice a difference in temperature. Since getting this new one, I can't tell you how nice it has been to feel the apartment is too warm, turn the Koldfront on, and already start to feel cooler in less than five minutes. I would definitely recommend this air conditioner to anyone looking for a powerful, fast-acting window a/c unit.

I had an older 6000 btu unit and replaced it with this one. It properly cooled my large master bedroom quickly and it wasn’t too loud. The remote function was good for my wife who likes the room warmer than I do. So when I’m asleep she just reaches over to lower the flow or turns it off for the night. We had early last summer used a 10000 btu portable unit but was no where near as effective as a window unit. This one I got for $279 the portable one cost us $400 on sale and died after 2 years of use not to mention the pain it was to drain in the bathtub every morning on hotter days. I’m happy with this units performance. However if you have a larger area your trying to cool I recommend a higher btu for cost and efficiancy

The temperature control buttons did not work on the unit - you cant control the temp. Contacted the seller - they wanted pics of what didn't work....ummm what good will that do.Didn't realize it was defective until after it was in the window and i paid someone to install it - it is too heavy for me. The company said to return it - didn't have the box nor do i have the strength or money to pay to have it removed and then try to haul it to have it returned. Also it is not energy efficient at all - i had to use it as it was and have the remote control the temp....it is loud and my bill is through the roof. DO NOT PURCHASE.
